Algeria follows with “extreme concern” Libya’s situation, calls to end conflicts

ALGIERS-Algeria is following with "extreme concern" the development of the situation in Tripoli (Libya) following the resumption of armed clashes since Friday evening, calling on all Libyan parties to work to end the conflicts and to seek communication, said Saturday a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad.
“Algeria is following with extreme concern the development of the situation in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, following the resumption of armed clashes since Friday. It is calling on all the Libyan parties to constantly work to end conflicts and to use dialogue,” said the source.
“Algeria stresses the importance of maintaining the ceasefire agreement which is an important achievement for restoring security and stability in this brotherly country," added the same source.
In this regard, Algeria calls on the international community and all the concerned external parties to “work to put an end to interference in Libyan affairs and to relaunch the peaceful political settlement process, in order to achieve the national reconciliation and enshrine the sovereignty of the Libyan people, through the holding of free and fair elections capable of putting an end to divisions and preserving the unity and sovereignty of the Libyan State, a brotherly country," said the statement.
Twelve people died and 87 others were injured in the ongoing armed clashes in Tripoli, according to a statement from the Libyan Ministry of Health.
