Algerian-Ethiopian cooperation can be strengthened in plenty of areas
ADDIS ABEBA (Ethiopia)- Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali of Ethiopia said he was pleased to have met the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, during a two-day visit (August 28-29) to Algeria, stressing that Algerian-Ethiopian cooperation can be strengthened in plenty of areas.
"Pleased to meet President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria," Abiy Ahmed Ali tweeted. "We discussed strengthened relations between our two countries."
"Ethiopia and Algeria have long enjoyed historic relations and there are plenty of areas in which our cooperation can be strengthened," he said.
Ethiopia's prime minister wrapped up Monday afternoon a two-day official visit to Algeria, during which President Tebboune gave him an official welcome at the presidency of the Republic, before holding a one-on-one meeting with him.

ALGIERS- President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received Monday Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed Ali, during which they focused on the opening of a direct air line Algiers-Addis-Ababa as soon as possible, said the Presidency of the Republic in a statement.
"President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received, Monday, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed Ali who is on an official visit to Algeria," said the source.
The meeting focused on "ways and means to strengthen bilateral relations in various areas, while emphasizing the opening of a direct airline, in the shortest possible time, between Algiers and Addis Ababa, which will enable exchange of visits between officials of the sectors of the two countries," the source added.
It was also "agreed to expand economic cooperation through increasing the volume of trade of national products of the two countries, especially in the areas of agri-food, pharmaceutical industry, training, and higher education and scientific research," concluded the source.
