Intergenerational Forum to support joint Arab action, crystallize unified vision in face of challenges
ORAN (Algeria)- The minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, said that the "Intergenerational Communication to Support Joint Arab Action" Forum, opened Sunday in Oran (432-km west- of Oran), will contribute to crystallizing a unified vision in the face of the major multidimensional challenges.
In an address, read at the event's opening ceremony on his behalf by the ministry's representative, Ambassador Noureddine Aouam, Lamamra said the forum, by tackling ways to activate the role of the Arab civil society in dealing with the issues of concern for the Arab world and the expectations of Arab peoples, will contribute without any doubt to "the collective effort to crystallize a unified vision in the face of the current challenges."
The minister added that the forum is mainly aimed at "extending the components of civil society and activating their role in the joint Arab action system."
 It is also "one of the series of initiatives taken to give it (joint Arab action) an effective role, according to a participative approach with the different official institutions of our Arab countries to promote the Arab region as a top priority in regional and international agendas."
Lamamra underlined that the intergenerational forum is an "opportunity to revive the historical memory of Arab peoples, with its cultural and civilizational dimensions, as one of the pillars of Arab nation's national identity that must be preserved, and to set up a relevant strategy."
He added that the forum is an "important element in the construction and strengthening of the cohesion of Arab societies and the building of bridges of communication among them."

ORAN- President of the National Civil Society Watchdog (ONSC) Abderrahmane Hamzaoui underlined Sunday, in Oran, that the organization of the “Intergenerational Communication to Support Joint Arab Action” Forum comes in support of the moves and efforts made by Algeria to promote the joint Arab action.
 
In his speech at the opening of the Forum’s works, Hamzaoui said that this Arab meeting “comes in support of the efforts made by Algeria to promote the joint Arab action in order to enable all the sections of the Arab societies to present their contributions aimed at taking up the most important challenges facing the Arab world.”
 
He said that the joint Arab actions must be achieved “according to an innovative approach based on traditional institutional frameworks, giving the civil society a large space to play its role of permanent partner in the management of crises and addressing the challenges alongside the official authorities.”
 
He affirmed that “the joint Arab action stems from the will of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune to strengthen the fraternity and friendship ties with the Arab countries, which represent our civilizational depth and roots.” He added that this action expresses his firm conviction to meet the bet in the face of the challenges facing the Arab world.
 
Hamzaoui pointed out that “working for the strengthening of the bonds of concord and cohesion is an essential factor to achieve the aspirations of the Arab nation in terms of security, stability and development,” adding that this forum is “an opportunity to develop ideas and perceptions, and to submit recommendation likely to lead to an important progress in the process of the empowerment of the Arab civil society’s players to contribute to the resolution of the most important Arab issues.”
 
The works of this forum, organized by ONSC, kicked off on Sunday morning in Oran. The five-day meeting is marked by the participation by about 150 senior officials, civil society’s activists, influencers and academic personalities from 19 Arab countries.
 
Algeria chairs group in charge of developing Arab League’s popular dimension
 
 
ORAN- The representative of the Secretariat General of the Arab League Khamis El Bouzidi announced Sunday, in Oran, that Algeria chairs the group in charge of developing the Arab League’s popular dimension, which is one of its priorities for the development of the joint Arab action system.
 
Speaking during the works of the “Intergenerational Communication to Support Joint Arab Action” Forum, Bouzidi said that a fourth group has been formed to develop the popular dimension of the Arab League in the system of the joint Arab action under the presidency of Algeria.
 
 
This group, he said, is currently working on the preparation of the final formulation of unified standards that must be met by the organizations of the Arab civil society, by granting it the status of observer in the bodies and mechanisms of the Arab League, which will strengthen the organization relations with the civil society’s institutions. It will also pave the way for this latter to keep pace with the joint Arab action process, he said.
 
 
He added that, on the basis of the Arab League’s conviction in the « important and prominent” role that could be played by the civil society’s institutions, it continues to assume its role as a global platform for the coordination of policies, initiatives and strategies affecting the heart of the living reality of the Arab citizens in the economic, social and cultural fields.
 
 
 
Intergenerational Forum in Support of joint Arab action opens in Oran
 
ORAN-The Intergenerational Forum in Support of joint Arab action opened Sunday in Oran with the participation of senior officials and civil society activists, influencers, and academic figures from nineteen Arab countries.
The President of the National Civil Society Watchdog (ONSC), Abderrahmane Hamzaoui said that the participants in this event will discuss the efforts of joint Arab action, its challenges, and prospects.
Hamzaoui will also focus on key issues facing the Arab nation in order to develop a common vision to face the challenges including energy security, food, health, and climate change.
The same speaker also highlighted the willingness of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune to strengthen relations of brotherhood and friendship with Arab countries.
The opening ceremony was attended by diplomat Nourredine Amar, representative of Ramtane Lamamara, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, and the representative of the Secretariat General of the Arab League, Khemis al Bouzidi.
This forum, organized by the ONSC, supports the efforts made by Algeria to promote joint Arab action and urges Arab countries to address the major challenges facing this region of the world.
The program of this five-day forum includes five workshop debates on "The Course of joint Arab action: Challenges and Prospects", "The Role of Civil Society in Facing International Influences and Challenges to Arab countries,” "The Preservation of Memory and Communication between Generations in the Service of Joint Arab Action", "The Popular Dimension in the Reform and Development of the Common Arab Institution" and "Ways to Boost Contribution of Civil Society to Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.”
One hundred and fifty (150 participants), including senior officials and civil society activists, influencers, and academic figures, will represent nineteen Arab countries in this first edition.
The participating countries are Algeria, Tunisia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Mauritania, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Egypt, Syria, Palestine, Iraq, Sudan, Libya, Lebanon, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen.
