Algeria mobilized for success of Arab Summit
ALGIERS-Algeria is mobilized, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to ensure the success of the 31st Arab Summit scheduled for November 1-2, 2022, said Thursday the Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, who announced a meeting in Algeria between the Palestinian factions before the Arab meeting.
Chairing the installation ceremony of Amar Belani, the new Secretary General of the Ministry in replacement of Rachid Chakib Kaid, Lamamra referred to "unceasing efforts" to conduct a large-scale diplomatic action under the leadership of the President of the Republic to consolidate the Palestinian ranks through a meeting to take place in Algeria before the Arab Summit.
The meeting is a step towards "an Arab unity strengthening the Palestinian unity, but also to engage through the Algiers Summit in a joint Arab action to update the solidarity and coordination for a lasting and equitable peace based on the right of the Palestinian people to its inalienable rights while addressing the challenges facing Arab societies under the principle of common and collective fate," he said.
Lamamra called for the necessary mobilization of everyone to ensure the success of the upcoming events.
"We are about to hold the 31st Arab Summit, an event for which we are preparing, President and special envoys," he said.
The FM expressed the hope to see an "unprecedented mobilization to live up to the expectations of the President of the Republic and the confidence of the people who see in diplomacy a symbol of sovereignty.”
For his part, Belani who will continue his missions as Special Envoy for the Western Sahara and Maghreb countries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, called on the ministry’s executives to work to make the new Algeria more influential.
