21st International Tourism and Travel Show (SITEV)

ALGIERS- Prime Minister Aimene Benabderrahmane officially inaugurated Thursday, at the Exhibition Palace (Algiers), the 21st International Tourism and Travel Fair (SITEV).
 
Benabderrahmane was accompanied by members of the government, ministers of tourism from Saudi Arabia, as guest of honor, Tunisia and Mauritania, as well as members of the diplomatic body accredited in Algeria.
 
This year's event, which coincides with the termination of the restrictions relating to the Covid-19 pandemic, will witness the participation of more than 200 local and foreign operators in tourism, travel and hospitality, who will have the opportunity to promote their tourist offers and introduce the general public to Algeria’s tourism diversity, according to the National Tourist Office (ONT).
 
Quality services, competitive prices to revive tourism sector
 
ALGIERS- Prime Minister Aïmene Benabderrahmane affirmed Thursday, in Algiers, that the “revival of tourism sector in Algeria is dependent on providing quality services and competitive prices,” calling on tourism agencies to seriously contribute to the promotion of the destination Algeria.
 
Chairing, at the Exhibition Center, the opening of the 21st International Tourism and Travel Show (SITEV), Prime minister, accompanied by members of the government, Arab ministers and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Algeria, visited to several stands of operators who gave him explanations on this fields and raised their concerns.  
 
In this respect, Benabderrahmane affirmed that “the sector’s current and future battle is that of the quality of services and their continuity,” noting that “guaranteeing quality services is dependent on the availability of skilled human resources.”
 
He called on the sector’s professionals on whom Algeria relies to revive the national economy, to “seriously contribute to the promotion of the destination Algeria, and to develop their efforts in order to meet the demand and contribute to the reduction of prices.”
 
“Tourists need competitive prices enabling them to discover the country’s different tourist destination,” he said.
 
Tourism operators are also called to « develop accommodation structures meeting international standards to enable Algeria to compete with reputable tourist destination,” added Prime minister who stressed the need to develop archeological tourism.
Benabderrahmane visited stands of foreign exhibitors where he reiterated the emphasis that Algeria places on the exchange of expertise in tourism.
 
He also visited the stands of startups working in the sector of tourism, pointing out the State’s willingness to provide them with the necessary support.
 
International Tourism, Travel Show: Domestic tourism in spotlight
 
ALGIERS- The 21st International Tourism and Travel Show (SITEV), back after an absence of two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, is focusing on the promotion of domestic tourism to attract the maximum number of Algerian and foreign tourists, along with the launch of Sahara tourism next week.
The event, meant to promote destination Algeria, is marked by the notable participation of various Algerian and foreign operators (managers of hotels, tourist and travel agencies and investors), who are taking part in the show to present their products and services and to establish partnerships with the professionals.
The event' manager and director general of the National Tourism Office of
Algeria, Saliha Nacer Bey, told APS that the event was very important.
She noted that "it combines authenticity and modernity," citing "the design of exhibition stands with a modern twist."
The event's activities focus on the promotion of tourism through the presentation of "diverse and rich" tourist circuits, such as the traditional circuits relating to spa and seaside tourism, new circuits by tourist and travel agencies as well as other products relating to environmental, mountain, archaeological and cultural tourism.
