Arab Summit in Algiers will be a successALGIERS- The secretary general of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, said Sunday that the Arab Summit in Algiers will be a "success," stressing that there is a perfect convergence of views between the Algerian side and the secretary general of the Arab League on relevant issues.
The next Arab Summit "will be a success for it is well prepared and organized," Aboul Gheit said following a political consultation meeting with the minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, and discussions that were subsequently extended to the delegations of both sides.
The meeting was an opportunity to "discuss all issues relating to the summit," he added.
"There is a perfect convergence of views with Mr Lamamra on all issues relating to the summit," the secretary general of the Arab League said, welcoming all measures taken in this regard.
Lamamra and Ahmed Aboul Gheit held bilateral discussions on the final preparations and the key issues on the agenda of the 31st Arab summit on November 1-2.
The discussions were then extended to the delegations of the two sides.
Algiers Arab Summit will be “unifying"
ALGIERS- The Algiers Arab Summit scheduled for November 1-2 will be a “unifying summit,” said Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit Monday in Algiers after the audience granted to him by President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
“The meeting was marked by a strong determination to ensure the full success of this summit," stated Aboul Gheit.
President Tebboune is a “remarkable figure” and is “fully informed of all the measures relating to the Arab Summit," he continued.
I hope the next meetings of permanent delegates and foreign ministers will lead to “a full consensus," said the Arab League SG.
“Several Arab leaders” will be present on November 1st and 2nd in Algeria where a festive atmosphere will reign,” he said.
The SG of the Arab League congratulated President Tebboune on the reconciliation agreement between the Palestinians.
“We want the Palestinians to implement this agreement to the letter to defend the future of Palestine.”
