Algerian community abroad welcomes President Tebboune’s decision to include diaspora in pension system
ALGIERS-Representatives of the national community abroad welcomed Sunday the decision taken by President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune to extend the pension system to the Algerian community abroad.
"The collective of the Algerian diaspora in France welcomes the decision of President Tebboune," the collective’s spokesman told APS, Nasser Khabat, calling this measure that offers members of the national community established abroad the possibility of voluntary membership in the national pension system in Algeria, "important" decision.
He also argued that this initiative" reflects the willingness of President Tebboune to meet the needs and concerns of the community of Algerians living abroad.
"This decision, which consolidates the bond of belonging of the community to the homeland and strengthens national cohesion, has been welcomed with great enthusiasm," he said.
"We welcome and encourage the expression of pragmatism and political will of President Tebboune," he added.
For his part, the President of the National Federation of the Algerian community Abroad, Tarek Benbouza, also hailed this measure and called it “beneficial.”
According to Benbouza, this decision was "eagerly expected" by Algerians living abroad, whether in Europe, in Arab countries, or elsewhere in the world.
This measure "reflects the great interest of President Tebboune and the high authorities of the country in the national community abroad. It contributes greatly to the revitalization and development of the national economy" and remains "at the service of the country's supreme interests,” he said.
For his part, the president of the association "Together for the Future", Rabah Lachouri welcomed the interest shown by the high authorities of the country in the national community abroad, saying he has noticed "an improvement in the treatment of this community by the authorities since the election of Abdelmadjid Tebboune to the presidency of the Republic.
The expansion of the national pension system "is a response to the concerns of members of our community in the Gulf countries, the Maghreb, Europe, and America,” he said.
