President Tebboune commends media’s awareness of plans against Algeria
ALGIERS-On the eve of the celebration of National Press Day, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune hailed Friday the level of awareness of the media that face the plans to disseminate fake news and systemic propaganda, tending to entertain on the achievements of Algeria and its ability to meet the challenges.
“The celebration of this day gives me the opportunity to welcome the level of awareness among the media outlets which are facing, with a high level of professionalism, the schemes of spreading fake news and of systematic propaganda, aimed to obscure the achievements of our country and its capacity to take up the challenges and achieving successes,” affirmed President Tebboune in his message on the eve of the celebration of the National Press Day.
“While we are proudly celebrating the National Press Day, coinciding with 22 October in commemoration of the publication on this day of 1955 of the first number of the newspaper “Résistance algérienne” (Algerian Resistance), the voice of the National Liberation Front and Army, and of the 60th anniversary of the recovery of sovereignty over the Algerian Radio and Television, on 28 October 1962,  we assure our full support to the women and men of this noble profession, who carry out their mission with a professional and patriotic spirit,” said President of the Republic.
“On this occasion, the President of the Republic paid tribute to the memory of the national duty’s martyrs who “committed themselves with honor and bravery to struggling against terrorism and the destruction machine which targeted the nation-State and its institutions,” praising the wise choice of the slogan “Sixty years of independence: Yesterday’s challenges…..Today’s challenges,” as a theme of the 8th edition of the President of the Republic Award for Professional Journalist.
 
Professional Journalist Award: President Tebboune chairs ceremony to honor winning journalists
ALGIERS-The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune chaired Saturday the ceremony to honor the winning journalists of the 8th edition of the President of the Republic’s Award for the Professional Journalist themed "Sixtieth Anniversary of Independence: Yesterday's Challenges, Today's Challenges.”
The ceremony took place at the People’s Palace, in the presence of the President of the Council of the Nation (Upper House), Salah Goudjil, the President of the People's National Assembly (Lower House), Brahim Boughali, the Prime Minister, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, the President of the Constitutional Court, Omar Belhadj, and the Chief of Staff of the People's National Army (ANP), Army General Said Chanegriha.
The Chief of Staff at the Presidency of the Republic, Abdelaziz Khellaf, the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, Abdellah Moundji, the Minister of Communication, Mohamed Bouslimani, members of Government, advisers to the President of the Republic, senior officials and many journalists attended the ceremony.
Held on the occasion of National Press Day, celebrated on October 22 of each year, the ceremony to honor the winning journalists aims to promote national media production and to encourage creativity and professionalism by establishing a culture of merit and distinction of the best media works related to the proposed theme.
The competition concerns five (5) categories, namely written press (feature article, review, editorial, report or investigation), television media (report, investigation, documentary, documentary film and sequence in informative and audiovisual images), and radio (information program and report).
The 4th category of the Award is the electronic press and the 5th category is dedicated to illustration (photography, drawing, and press cartoon published by national media).
 
President Tebboune arrives at People’s Palace to honor winners of Professional Journalist Award
ALGIERS-The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune arrived Saturday at the People's Palace in Algiers to chair the ceremony to honor the winning journalists of the 8th edition of the President of the Republic’s Award for the Professional Journalist themed "Sixtieth Anniversary of Independence: Yesterday's Challenges, Today's Challenges.”
The President of the Republic was welcomed at the People's Palace by senior state officials.
Organized on the occasion of National Press Day, celebrated on October 22 each year, the ceremony to honor the winning journalists aims to "promote the national media production in all its forms, and encourage creativity and professionalism.” 
 
President Tebboune honours winners of President Award of Professional Journalist
ALGIERS- President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Saturday honoured the winners of the 8th President of the Republic Award for Professional Journalists held under the theme "60th anniversary of independence: challenges of yesterday, challenges of today."
The first award went to Khaled Derbani in the written media section, to Mounir Laradj in the television section, to Bouchra Bouhnache in the Radio section, and to Abdelhalim Diab in the electronic media section.
The president of the Republic also honoured the families of deceased famous media figures, like Mohand Oussaid Belaid, Zineb El Mili, Abdelmalek Houyou, Abdelmadjid Cherbal and Sabrina Khelifi.
The award ceremony took place at the People's Palace, in the presence of the speaker of the Council of the Nation (upper house of Parliament), Salah Goudjil, the speaker of the People's National Assembly (lower house), Brahim Boughali, Prime Minister Aymen Benabderrahmane, the president of the Constitutional Court, Omar Belhadj, and the chief of Staff of the People's National Army, General Saïd Chanegriha.
The ceremony was attended by the chief of staff to the president of the Republic, Abdelaziz Khellaf, the secretary general of the presidency of the Republic, Abdellah Moundji, the minister of Communication, Mohamed Bouslimani, members of the government, advisors to the president of the Republic, senior officials and a number of journalists.
