Rezig, Arab ministers discuss strengthening of economic cooperation
ALGIERS- Minister of Trade and Exports Promotion Kamel Rezig held Friday, in Algiers, on the sidelines of the meeting of the Economic and Social Council of the Arab League (ESC) at the ministerial level, discussions with a number of Arab ministers on ways to strengthen the economic cooperation.
Rezig discussed with Tunisian Minister of Trade and Exports Development Fadhila Rebhi Ben Hamza, Sudanese Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Jibril Ibrahim Mohamed, Somalia’s Minister of Finance Elmi Mahmoud Nour, Yemeni Minister of Trade and Industry Mohamed Mohamed Hizam Al-Achoul, Palestinian Minister of Economy Khaled Al-Assili and Libyan Minister of Economy and Trade Moahmed Ali Al-Hawij.
The talks, which took place at the International Center of Conferences (CIC) "Abdelatif Rahal," focused mainly on the increase in trading, creation of business councils and intensification of the participation in the economic events enabling an exchange of experiences and presentation of production capacities.
In a statement to the press following his meeting with Yemeni Minister of Trade and Industry, Rezig underlined Algeria’s willingness to accompany Yemen in the sector of trade and to increase exports to Yemen, announcing the creation of a businessmen council “as soon as possible, and of the renewal of the trade agreement between the two countries.
For his part, Yemeni minister expressed his country’s willingness to deepen its trade cooperation with Algeria, notably through the Algerian-Yemeni High Joint Committee, the signing of new trade agreements and the renewal of the previous agreements.
For his part, Somalia’s minister expressed his country’s willingness to strengthen the cooperation with Algeria that he describes as “a pioneering country in the unification of the Arab ranks. »
