Arab Summit: Consultative session begins behind closed doors 
ALGIERS-The work of the consultative session of the Arab Summit began behind closed doors Wednesday at the International Conference Center (ICC) in Algiers, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadid Tebboune, chairman of the 31st session of the Council of the Arab League at the Summit level.
Leaders, heads of state and Government of Arab countries attend the session.
The day before, President Tebboune took the chair of the 31st session of the Arab Summit. 
 
President Tebboune arrives at ICC to chair second day of Arab Summit
 
ALGIERS-The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune arrived Wednesday at the International Conference Center (ICC), where he will chair the second day of the 31st session of the Arab Summit.
Arab leaders and heads of delegations also arrived at the ICC. 
The day before, President Tebboune took the chair of the 31st session of the Arab Summit from his Tunisian counterpart, Kais Saied, at the opening session.
 
Kais Saied: Algiers Summit to gather Arab brothers around set of solutions to address disputes
 
ALGIERS-Tunisia’s President, Kais Saied said Tuesday in Algiers that the 31st Arab Summit whose work began Tuesday in Algiers will bring together the Arab brothers around a set of solutions to address the disputes and accumulations of the past.
Speaking at the opening of the Arab Summit, in his capacity as chairman of the previous session, in the presence of heads of Arab states and their representatives, led by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Said commended Algeria’s efforts to bring together the Arab states on the occasion of the 31st Arab Summit.
The Tunisian president said he was convinced that the decisions that will result from the Summit "will bring together the brothers around a set of solutions and agree on a minimum of approaches and ways to resolve the disputes accumulated in the past and deal with developments in recent years.”
Said praised the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune for his efforts to reach the reconciliation agreement between the Palestinian factions signed in mid-October in Algiers.
"Peace and harmony can only prevail through the restoration of the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to a free, independent, and sovereign state with El Quds as its capital," he continued.
Referring to Tunisia’s presidency of the previous Arab summit, Kais Saied expressed the commitment of his country to address the problems of the Arab region and find solutions through dialogue within the Arab League, to better understand the Arab issues and give greater momentum and effectiveness to the role of Arab countries.
 
Arab Summit in Algiers: Moussa Faki calls for stronger relations with Arab countries
 
ALGIERS-The Chairman of the African Union (AU) Commission, Mahamat Moussa Faki called Tuesday in Algiers to establish "stronger" relations between the African Union (AU) and Arab countries, stressing that African and Arab societies were facing challenges that exhaust their energies and harm their peoples.
"If the AU and the League of Arab States had combined their efforts, the majority of the problems suffered by the peoples of their countries would have been solved. We struggle for peace and stability,” said Faki at the opening ceremony of the 31st Arab Summit at the International Conference Center (ICC) "Abdelatif Rahal.”
He also expressed the willingness of the AU to develop everything that serves Arab peoples and contributes to a civilization based on peace and freedom, deploring underdevelopment and globalization, which require “further solidarity.”
Regarding the Palestinian cause, Faki reiterated the support of the AU for the Palestinian people's struggle to regain their legitimate rights to freedom and independence, calling for the "joint efforts of the two bodies and the consolidation of solidarity and coordination in support of the Palestinian people to end the Zionist hostilities and establish the State of Palestine with Al-Quds as its capital in accordance with international legality.
On this occasion, he praised Algeria's efforts for the unification of Palestinian factions.
Regarding the Arab-African Summit scheduled for next year in Saudi Arabia, Faki said "we have high hopes for this summit.”
 
Mohamed Al-Menfi: Arab nation was in great need of Arab Summit in Algeria
ALGIERS-The President of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Younes Al-Menfi said Tuesday that the Arab nation was in great need of holding the 31st Arab Summit in Algeria, expressing confidence in the success of this event "organized on a blessed land soaked with the blood of the shuhadas (martyrs).”
In a statement to the press after the first day of the Arab Summit, Al-Menfi said that "the Arab nation was in great need of the holding of this summit, certainly successful and organized on a blessed land and soaked with the blood of the shuhadas, especially since it coincides with the anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious 1 November Revolution.
Offering his wishes to the Algerian people and President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune on the occasion of this anniversary, he said he was convinced of the success of the Summit of "the unification of ranks, which should culminate in positive conclusions in favor of Libya.”
The Libyan official said that the points discussed at the preparatory meeting of Arab foreign ministers, "if adopted, will initiate several reforms in favor of the Arab Nation.
For her part, Libya’s Foreign Minister, Najla Al Mangouch welcomed the conditions of the opening of the Algiers Summit.
In this regard, she hoped that several important decisions under the Algiers Declaration will be adopted at the closing ceremony scheduled for Wednesday.
Referring to the situation in Libya, Al Mangouch said: "We live in crisis and political disputes, but Libya is recovering and aims to hold elections to achieve political stability to which the Libyan people also aspire.”
The Libyan FM offered her congratulations to the Algerian government and people on the occasion of the anniversary of the outbreak of the Liberation War, “of which all Arabs are proud.”
Arab Summit: NAM President welcomes initiative to gather Arabs
 
ALGIERS-The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and current chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), Ilham Aliyev, expressed, Tuesday in Algiers, his support to the Arab Summit held in Algiers, welcoming the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s initiative to gather the Arabs.
Aliyev, the Summit guest of honor, expressed his gratitude to President Tebboune for inviting him to participate in the work of the Summit, expressing his support for the Algiers Summit aimed at bringing together the Arab ranks.
Aliyev said he was working to strengthen the partnership between the NAM and the Arab League states and enhance ties with member countries.
On the occasion of the 68th anniversary of the outbreak of the Glorious November Revolution, the Azerbaijani president hailed the sacrifices of the Algerian people, expressing his joy at his visit to Algeria on this day to celebrate it with the Algerians.
“I am overwhelmed with emotions,” he stated during his visit to the sanctuary of the martyr and the Museum of Mujahid.
Aliyev, who announced the holding of the NAM conference next March, pledged to "spare no effort" to strengthen the unity between the member countries of the Movement, especially in the face of international political and economic challenges.
