Bourita, or the thoughtlessness of professional forger

ALGIERS- Cornered by his own claptrap to the Arab media, the Moroccan Foreign minister, always looking for stupid ideas, fabricated an alleged invitation for the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to pay a visit to Morocco.
It is too serious to be the subject of false propaganda. In fact, this coarse and unsophisticated manoeuvre that cannot deceive anyone is merely a clumsy justification for King Mohamed VI's last-minute clop-out.
Indeed, the confirmation of Moroccan King's attendance at Algiers Arab Summit was notified by note verbale to the Algerian ministry of Foreign Affairs, and subsequently confirmed through the Arab League.
Morocco had submitted overflight and landing requests for 10 aircraft to carry the King, the crown prince and the rest of the royal delegation, according to the note verbale.
This scripted scenario, of a planned clop-out, was confirmed as soon as the Moroccan minister arrived in the airport of Algiers, when he started to complain about an alleged "scant consideration" given to him while he received the same protocol treatment as his Arab counterparts.
It was just the beginning of a long series of provocations.
While refusing to enjoy the Algerian legendary hospitality, this forger minister spent most of his time walking back and force in the corridors of the Summit's venue looking for any idle reporter to spew his nonsense, instead of taking part, in a constructive way, with his peers in the discussion on the critical challenges facing the Arab world.
It is obvious that the Palestinian issue being high on the agenda of the historic Arab League Summit in Algiers irritated the Moroccan diplomacy, which has opted for normalization at the expense of the Palestinian people to better serve its vile expansionist designs.
Algerian authorities were not surprised by the lurch of the Moroccan monarchy, and the false suspense about the coming of the king misled only those who "speculated in vain on two miserable goals:" stealing the spotlight and turning it on the Algerian-Moroccan relations and undermining a crucial Arab Summit held under special circumstances.
Failing to live up to the event, the Moroccan minister "indulged in his favourite childish game, by trying to persuade the secretary general of the Arab League of the presence of a representative of the Polisario Front among the Summit's attendees.
In the face of such an enormity that made many participants laugh up their sleeves, the same minister eventually admitted that his clever team was wrong.
This irresponsible behaviour, the Moroccan chief diplomat is used to, explains the turpitudes and wanderings of the Moroccan diplomacy that has been going through a series of setbacks, the latest being today's resounding re-election of the Algerian candidate, Larbi Djacta, for a second term as head of the International Civil Service Commission of the United Nations against his Moroccan opponent by 121 votes against 64.
The pressure and intimidations of the Moroccan ambassador in New York, who was desperately trying to lobby foreign delegations, were in vain and the international diplomacy has just inflicted another crushing defeat on Morocco.
This brilliant Algerian victory shows the strong return of the Algerian diplomacy under the wise leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and one must bet that after his debacle in Algiers, Minister Bourita will spend another sleepless night pondering his failures and planning his next dirty tricks against a country playing in the big league.
