President Tebboune receives Dutch Prime Minister in Sharm El-SheikhSHARM EL-SHEIKH (Egypt)-The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune received Monday in Sharm El-Sheikh (Egypt) the Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27).
In a statement to the press after the audience, Rutte said he discussed with President Tebboune bilateral relations, highlighting "many issues" that the two countries "can develop together" and "the progress made in various areas, including agriculture and economy.”
The Dutch PM stated that his “fruitful” meeting with President Tebboune also focused on regional and international issues of common interest, expressing his wish to see bilateral cooperation relations develop further.
President Tebboune meets in Sharm El-Sheikh with Bulgarian counterpart
SHARM EL-SHEIKH (Egypt)-The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune met Monday in Sharm El-Sheikh (Egypt), with the President of Bulgaria, Roumen Radev.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the summit of heads of state and government of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change - COP27.
COP27: President Tebboune arrives in Sharm El-Sheikh International Convention Center
SHARM EL-SHEIKH (Egypt)- President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune arrived Monday at the International Convention Centre of Sharm El-Sheikh to take part in the Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27).
President Tebboune was welcomed, upon his arrival in Sharm El-Sheikh International Convention Center, by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi and the United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
This international event is organized by the United Nations under the motto “Together for Implementation,” chaired this year by Egypt.
President Tebboune meets French counterpart in Sharm El-Sheikh
SHARM EL-SHEIKH (Egypt)- President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Monday in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, met French President Emmanuel Macron, who congratulated him on the success of the 31st Arab League Summit, held on November 1-2 in Algiers.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27).
President Tebboune also met President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela and many African counterparts.
President Tebboune receives Italian Prime Minister in Sharm El-Sheikh
SHARM EL-SHEIKH (Egypt)- The president of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune received Monday in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, Prime minister Giorgia Meloni of Italy.
The audience took place on the sidelines of the Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27).
COP27: Fight against climate change, Algeria’s main focus
SHARM EL-SHEIKH- The fight against the climate changes is one of Algeria’s priorities at the national and international levels, hence the participation of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune in the Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), in Sharm El-Sheikh (Egypt).
Algeria has always reiterated its commitment to dealing with climate issues in different global summits, while continuing its efforts to promote its role through several initiatives welcomed on many occasions.
President Tebboune has persistently stressed the importance of mobilizing all the means and taking necessary measures to fight against the effects of climate change, including the National Climate Plan and the law on the fight against major hazards, and of relaunching the project of the green dam to contribute to the creation of a low-emission zone.
In this regard, President Tebboune will participate on 7 and 8 November in the Global Summit on Climate (COP27), alongside the world’ leaders, officials of UN bodies and experts of international and regional bodies to discuss the impact of climate changes.
The President of the Republic received in June an invitation from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi to take part in the Summit.
Algeria’s participation in this event is meant to be an opportunity to present its moves and the efforts it has undertaken in this regard, and to shed light on its national strategies on climate change, in implementation of its commitments in this area and in view of its ratification of all the international conventions aimed to reduce gas emissions and fight against greenhouse effect.
As part of its moves to protect climate, Algeria adopted in 2020, the National Climate Plan for the period 2020-2030, which is considered as its international showcase in this field and which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 22%, a conditional commitment “in case the country benefits from an international financing and a transfer of technology) and by 7% as a voluntary commitment.
COP27: Summit of Heads of State and Government kicks off in Sharm El-Sheikh
SHARM EL-SHEIKH (Egypt)- The Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27) kicked off Monday, in Sharm el-Sheikh, with the participation of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
President Tebboune arrived, shortly before, in the International Convention Center of Sharm El-Sheikh to take part in this Summit.
Upon his arrival at the International Convention Center of Sharm El-Sheikh, he was welcomed by Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi and the United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
This international event is organized by the United Nations under the motto “Together for Implementation,” chaired this year by Egypt.
The Summit’s works started with the speech of Egyptian Head of State Abdel Fattah al-Sissi who will chair this event.
