New development in Pegasus case: Morocco’s involvement proven
RABAT- A Moroccan, by the name of Wafa Beraichi, head of an administrative unit at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), has been dismissed because of her collusion with the Moroccan intelligence services which attempted to hush up the Pegasus spy case.
This Moroccan employee was the subject of internal disciplinary proceedings, leading to her dismissal, following the revelation of an agreement between the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Freedom Voices network, having supported Forbidden Stories in its revelations on Pegasus case more than a year ago.
This case comes at a time when a temporary report of the European Parliament made new revelations on persons who were victims of these spy operations, including Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and his ministers of Defense and of Interior.
In July 2021, a global inquiry led by international media outlets disclosed the use, amongst others, by Morocco of Pegasus spy software developed by the Zionist company NSO Group. Moroccan and international journalists as well as foreign politicians are among the victims of this programme.
This international scandal was uncovered by 16 editorial offices, coordinated by Forbidden Stories organization, with the technical support of Amnesty International, on the basis of a list of over 50,000 phone numbers, pre-selected by some NSO’s clients, to be possibly put under surveillance.
