Algerian Pr. Mohamed Hichem Kara elected member of African Academy of Sciences
ALGIERS- Professor Mohamed Hichem Kara, biologist oceanographer at the University of Annaba, has been elected member of the African Academy of Sciences, this institution said Tuesday in a statement.
Professor Kara, founding member and deputy-chairman of the Algerian Academy of Sciences and Technologies, “will be received and set up within this institution on 8 December 2022 on the occasion of its 14th General Assembly and of the World Science Forum which will be held from 4 to 9 December 2022 in Cape Town in South Africa.”
The African Academy of Sciences aims mainly at improving the quality of life in the African continent through the integration of knowledge and scientific progress.
The members of the African Academy of Sciences, whose headquarters is located in Nairobi in Kenya, “are elected for life amongst the active African scientists living in Africa or elsewhere and who have reached the highest international norms and/or significantly contributed to the development and application of science, technology and innovation in Africa,” said the source.
