Joint Algerian-Jordanian statement following King Abdullah II bin Hussein visit to Algeria
ALGIERS-The State visit paid by King Abdullah II bin Hussein, ruler of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Algeria on December 3-4 was crowned by a joint Algerian-Jordanian declaration, which was translated by APS:
“On the basis of the fraternal and historical relations between the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and in response to the kind invitation of his brother, His Excellency President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Hussein, Sovereign of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, visited Algeria on 3 and 4 December 2022.”
The two leaders held bilateral talks, followed by an extended session with members of both countries' delegations, in a spirit of friendship and brotherhood (fraternity) that consecrates (that demonstrates better) the depth of the close and historical relations between the two countries.
Various aspects of bilateral cooperation in all fields were discussed during this meeting, in addition to the ways to strengthen them in the best interests of the two brotherly countries.
In this framework, His Majesty King Abdullah II congratulated his brother, His Excellency President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on the success of the 31st Arab Summit in Algiers, held on 1-2 November 2022.
His Majesty the King of Jordan welcomed the important results achieved by the Summit in addressing the current challenges facing the Arab Nation, unifying its ranks and safeguarding its interests in the service of its issues, foremost among which is the Palestinian cause, a central cause, in addition to activating joint Arab action and strengthening efforts to deal with crises at the regional level and raising the level of joint cooperation in consecrating security, stability and prosperity in the region.
The two leaders stressed the centrality of the Palestinian cause and the importance of a just solution that can guarantee all the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people on the basis of the two-state solution, which enshrines the independent and sovereign State of Palestine on the borders of June 4, 1967, with al-Quds as its capital, in accordance with the relevant decisions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative, the only path to a just, comprehensive and lasting peace.
The two leaders stressed the importance of enshrining Palestinian unity and ending the division. The Jordanian monarch highlighted the efforts of the President of the Republic to reduce differences and consolidate Palestinian unity and welcomed all initiatives in this direction.
The two leaders also stressed the need to preserve the historical and legal status of the Islamic and Christian Holy Places in al Quds.
In this regard, His Excellency President Tebboune recalled the central role of the historic Hashemite Trusteeship in protecting the Islamic and Christian Holy Places in al Quds, their Arab, Muslim and Christian identity, as well as the role of the Administration of the Waqfs of al Quds and the Affairs of the al Aqsa Mosque under the Jordanian Ministry of Waqfs and Islamic Places, which has exclusive competence in the management of the Affairs of the al Aqsa Mosque and the Holy Places of al Quds, a space dedicated in its entirety to the exercise of Muslim worship.
They also stressed the importance of bilateral coordination and cooperation at the level of regional and international organizations and bodies for the benefit of their interests and in the service of Arab causes and the foundations of security, peace, and stability in the region and throughout the world, while highlighting the central role played by the two countries in this framework.
At the end of his visit, His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Hussein, Sovereign of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, expressed his deep thanks and consideration to his brother President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him and the delegation accompanying him and.

Algeria-Jordan: Need to expand bilateral cooperation
ALGIERS-Algeria and Jordan affirmed, Sunday, the importance of expanding their bilateral cooperation to other sectors in order to achieve common and solitary development, and thus reach the growth and prosperity of both countries, according to the joint Algerian-Jordanian Declaration at the end of King Abdullah II bin Hussein's visit in Algeria.
President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and King Abdullah II hailed the achievements in the pharmaceutical industry sector and the experience of “the successful cooperation between Algerian and Jordanian factories in this field,” according to the source.
The two leaders invited officials in both countries to launch “steps likely to encourage investors and businessmen to explore the opportunities and means offered in the economic, investment and commercial fields, and to finalize the relevant agreements.
They also stressed “the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation to other sectors, including health care, energy, therapeutic tourism, hospitality, transport, aviation training, culture, higher education and cultural exchanges between universities and other sectors, with a view to achieving joint and mutually supportive development, thus achieving growth and prosperity for the two brotherly countries and peoples.”
To this end, President Tebboune and King Abdullah II gave guidelines to the officials of the two countries to “begin preparations for the next session of the Grand Joint Commission, to be held in 2023.”
In addition, the two leaders also discussed, on the occasion of this two-day visit, “the strengthening of joint Arab action in the face of common challenges, to better serve the Arab causes, thus, His Majesty King Abdullah II congratulated his brother, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for the success of the 31st Arab Summit in Algiers, held on November 1 and 2, 2022,” the statement said.
