Algeria welcomes signing of ＂political framework agreement＂ by Sudanese parties

ALGIERS - Algeria welcomed with "great satisfaction" the announcement of the signing of the "political framework agreement" by the Sudanese parties which constitutes "a decisive step" likely to strengthen the process of political settlement of the crisis in this country, said Monday the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad in a statement.
"Algeria welcomed with great satisfaction the signing by the Sudanese parties of the 'political framework agreement,' which is a decisive step that could strengthen the process of political settlement of the crisis in sisterly Sudan," said the source.
"Algeria hopes that this agreement will be followed by other steps likely to put a definitive end to the political escalation in this brotherly country to enable it to face the various challenges and continue its development in the best interests of the Sudanese people and their legitimate aspirations for progress and prosperity," according to the communiqué.
In this regard, Algeria urged "the brothers in Sudan to deploy all efforts to achieve the settlement process and reach the desired goal and to place Sudan and the interests of the Sudanese people above all other considerations.
Algeria also welcomed the efforts of the African Union (AU), the UN and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) in implementing the tripartite process management mechanism, which led to the achievement of this "important step" towards a comprehensive and lasting settlement of the current political crisis, the source concluded.
