President Tebboune receives participants in international symposium on Imam Al- Maghili
ALGIERS- President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune received, Thursday, participants in the International Symposium on "Imam Mohamed Ben Abdelkrim Al Maghili: Governance, Unity and Stability of African Societies," held in Algiers on December 12 and 13.
They are the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, the President of Usman Bauchi Foundation, Ibrahim Tahir Bauchi (Nigeria), the Caliph of the Tidjanie brotherhood of the Djenaba region (Senegal), Chiekh Serine Hassen Sik, the president of the House of the Koran "Meriem Niass," Omar Tidjani, the Sultan of Agadez, Ibrahim Oumarou (Niger), the president of the Association of Imam Ben Abdelkrim Al Maghili and his grandson, M. Ibrahim Saidan, Sheikh Karib Allah Nasser Kabar, head of the Kadiria brotherhood in Nigeria and West Africa as well as the grandson of Imam Al- Maghili, Abdelkarim Sherif Ali Sherif, president of Al Maghili Foundation.
In a statement during this meeting, Sheikh Serine Hassen Sik expressed to President Tebboune and the Algerian people his gratitude for the warm welcome, noting that this is nothing new for Algeria, "land of shouhada and heroes, land of the million and a half shahid.
"Algeria, whose land was watered with the blood of the shouhada, these heroes who gave a unique example of defense of religion and human dignity ... is the source and origin of the Tidjanie brotherhood," he recalled.
For his part, Sheikh Karib Allah Nasser Kabar said: "In Nigeria, we consider ourselves part of you (...) our religious thought comes from Algeria (...) and we must unite."
He also conveyed to the President of the Republic the greetings of Nigerian President, Mohammadu Buhari, and those of the leaders of the Kadiria brotherhood.
The meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic, was attended by Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs, Youcef Belmehdi and representative of the Presidency of the Republic, Hassouni Mohamed.
Lamamra receives Caliph of Tidjanie brotherhood in Djenaba region
ALGIERS- Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra received, Thursday in Algiers, the Caliph of the Tidjanie brotherhood of the Djenaba region (Senegal), Sheikh Serine Hassen Sik, said the ministry in a statement.
During this meeting, the two parties "discussed the fraternal relations between the two Algerian and Senegalese peoples, as well as their cooperation in the fields of science and religion deeply rooted in their common history, including the historical role of the Tidjanie brotherhood whose authentic origins are in the city of Ain Madhi, which is a center of spiritual radiance and a destination for millions of followers of the Tidjanie brotherhood around the world, especially in Africa," the source said.
The Caliph of the Tidjanie brotherhood of the region of Djenaba, Sheikh Serine Hassen Sika took part, Monday and Tuesday, in the work of the International Colloquium of Algiers on "Imam Mohamed Ben Abdelkrim Al-Maghili: governance, unity and stability of African societies," organized under the patronage of President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune as part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of national independence.
