Year 2022: Great celebration of 60th anniversary of recovery of national sovereignty
ALGIERS-The year 2022 was marked in Algeria by the grandiose celebration of the 60th anniversary of the recovery of national sovereignty with an impressive military parade organized in Algiers by the People's National Army (ANP).
In this historic moment, the Army, worthy heir of the glorious National Liberation Army (ALN), organized a military parade to the height of the event, causing pride in the Algerian people.
Supervised by the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, and Minister of National Defense, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, this parade was hosted by the squares of the Musical Training and Cavalry, under the Republican Guard, the squares of the Cadets of the Nation, the Commands of Forces, the Military Schools, as well as the squares of the Directorate General of National Police (DGSN), the Directorate General of Customs and the Directorate General of the Civil Protection.
Combat vehicles, headed by different types of tanks, vehicles of mechanized and motorized infantry, artillery, various types of vehicles rocket launchers, various artillery systems against aircraft, and anti-aircraft missile systems, marked this parade.
The groups of the various machines of the Combat Engineers dedicated to the opening of the roads and the installation of bridges and various vehicles of multiform support, including technical and medical, also took part in this parade at the sides of the motorcycles under the National Gendarmerie.
The air forces embellished the sky of the Bay of Algiers through air shows performed by aircraft belonging to the Air Force including tactical transport aircraft, reconnaissance, and fighter aircraft, and bombers alongside of combat helicopters, reconnaissance, transport and search and rescue helicopters. The helicopters of the National Gendarmerie, the DGSN, and the Directorate General of Civil Protection participated in the air shows.
Parachute jumping exhibitions performed by the national military parachute jumping teams, male and female, also marked this military parade, before the entry of the Naval Forces consisting of various warships and multipurpose vessels such as submarines, boats Command and Projection of Forces, Frigates, Corvettes, minesweepers, training ships and search and rescue vessels.
The parade was also embellished with entertaining artistic performances by the bagpipe band of the Republican Guard. At the beginning of the parade, cannons fired sixty salvos to mark the 60 years of Algerian independence.
