Two Algerian banks to open in Senegal, Mauritania
ALGIERS-The Director General of the External Bank of Algeria (BEA), Lazhar Latreche announced Wednesday in Algiers the opening "in the next few days" of two (2) Algerian banks in Senegal and Mauritania.
In a statement to the press on the sidelines of the signing ceremony of two financing agreements with the public group "Algeria Chemical Specialities" (ACS), Latreche said that all legal and administrative procedures have been completed for the opening of these two banks, approved by the monetary authorities in Senegal and Mauritania.
These two banks will be created by four public banks, namely the BEA, the National Bank of Algeria (BNA), the Credit Populaire d'Algérie (CPA), and the Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development (BADR).
With these two new banks, Algerian private and public businessmen can benefit from facilities in the field of export and exchange, he continued.
Latrech also announced the upcoming opening of a branch of BEA in France.
The same official also referred to the opening last Saturday of an exchange office of BEA at the airport of Djanet, after the launch of the first Paris-Djanet direct flight, stressing that the European tourists whose number exceeded one hundred (100) benefited from immediate banking services provided by the new office.
In addition to this exchange office, tourists used an ATM that accepts all international and national cards, said Latreche.
