ALGIERS-The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune said Thursday evening that Algerian diplomacy was based on the principles of peace and refusal of the enslavement of peoples.

Referring to his visit to Russia in response to the invitation of his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, the President of the Republic assured that Russia "is a friendly country and our relations are good and go back over 60 years. I will visit Russia, then China.”
Algeria has good relations with Asian countries and Latin American countries, and its relations with Europe "exist and will be strengthened further," he said, assuring that the United States and India are also friendly countries.
As for the recent visit of the King of Jordan, Abdullah II to Algeria, and a possible mediation relayed by some media, President Tebboune said he had not mentioned any mediation and no country, stressing that his visit was like all other visits of leaders who came to Algeria, except that there are always parties who fall into interpretations.
The President of the Republic said that the Algerian people would be the first to know in case of mediation initiated by any party, saying that "things have gone beyond the stage of mediation.”
Regarding relations between Algeria and Saudi Arabia, President Tebboune said they were "excellent.”
He announced that the Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salmane, “who was to come to Algeria even before the Arab Summit, would visit our country soon.”
Regarding the Libyan issue, the President of the Republic said: "our destiny is common", stressing that Algeria was convinced that the elections are the only solution for the Libyan issue.
As for Tunisia, President Tebboune expressed his respect for his counterpart, Kaïs Saïed, calling him "an honest, intellectual and nationalist person", insisting on non-interference in the internal affairs of Tunisia, which "will inevitably address its problems.”
