Upper House condemns incursion in Al-Aqsa, calls for effective implementation of Algiers Declaration

ALGIERS- Council of the Nation (Upper House) condemned Saturday in Cairo the incursion in the esplanade of Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling for the effective implementation of the content of the Algiers Declaration issued by the 31st Arab Summit and the preservation of the spirit of the National Reconciliation Agreement signed under the aegis of President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, said the parliamentary institution in a statement.
Chairman of the group of the presidential third in the Council of the Nation, Saad Arous, who participated in the work of the 29th session of the Executive Committee of the Arab Parliamentary Union in Cairo, "strongly condemned the intrusion of the Zionist minister in the esplanade of the Al-Aqsa Mosque with the support of his extremist government," calling for "the effective implementation of the content of the Algiers Declaration of the 31st Arab Summit, including the reaffirmation of the centrality of the Palestinian cause and the preservation of the unification of Palestinian ranks, in accordance with the spirit of the National Reconciliation Agreement signed in Algiers under the auspices of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboue."
The representative of the Council of the Nation stressed "the need to preserve the spirit of this agreement and perpetuate it and work to give more visibility to the Palestinian cause under the terms of the Algiers Declaration.
During the session devoted to the regulatory correspondences, the statement added, Arous welcomed the "amendments undertaken by the IUPAC in its charter and its internal regulations, so that it is consistent with its strategy of action," referring to "the successful experience of Algeria in the change and renewal, through deep reform projects in all areas, and this in completion of the building of the New Algeria, whose foundations have been laid by the President of the Republic."
Arous also welcomed the proposal of Iraq to host the next session of the IUPAC conference in the capital Baghdad.
The agenda of the meeting focused on the study of "several regulatory axes, such as the report of the Secretary General of the IUPAC, the activities of the General Secretariat of the Union since the holding of the last session of the Executive Committee, but also the draft budget for the year 2023 and the adoption of the amendment of the IUPAC charter and its rules of procedure, in addition to reviewing its working strategy (2023 - 2026).
The representative of the Council of the Nation had taken part, Friday, in the meetings of the two committees of the legal team and the Arab Parliamentary Merit Award, and this as part of a series of regular meetings initiated by the IUPAC, in preparation for the next annual conference.
