Palestine: OIC calls on UN to take appropriate measures to stop Zionist escalation
DJEDDAH- The executive committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned on Tuesday “in the strongest terms” the Zionist incursion into al-Aqsa mosque, calling on the United Nations Security Council to take the appropriate measures to stop the Zionist escalation.
In its final statement adopted at the end of the extraordinary meeting of the executive committee to discuss the repeated Zionist attacks on al-Aqsa, OIC condemned “in the strongest terms” the incursion into the mosque on Tuesday by a extremist minister of the Zionist entity “known for his fanaticism,” and considers it as “a serious provocation of the Muslims’ feelings worldwide, as well as a violation of the international law and UN’s relevant resolutions and a blatant violation of the historical and juridical status of al-Quds.”
The source underlines that the first responsible on what is happening in al-Aqsa and in al-Quds city is “the colonial occupation authorities, which protect the colonists and their leaders, including the representatives of the government, and continue their efforts to change the existing situation,” and “make them bear the consequences and their continued illegal actions and policies.”
He called on the UN Security Council “as the guarantor of the international peace and security to assume its responsibilities and take urgent action to take the appropriate measures to stop the dangerous (Zionist) escalation as well as all other illegal measures and policies undermining the city of occupied al-Quds and sacred character of al-Aqsa mosque.”
