ALGIERS-The Secretary of the Central Committee of Fatah Movement, Jibril Rajoub commended Sunday the initiative of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune to end the division between the Palestinians and achieve national reconciliation.
In a statement to the press at the end of the audience granted to him by the President of the Republic, Rajoub welcomed "the project presented by President Tebboune to contain, if not end the division on the Palestinian scene, and thus achieve the Palestinian national unity, in anticipation of the establishment of a fully sovereign Palestinian state with El-Quds as its capital," reiterating the commitment of the Fatah Movement to bring this initiative to fruition and achieve national unity, "a sine qua non for the establishment of a Palestinian state.”
The Palestinian official said he handed over a letter to President Tebboune from President Mahmoud Abbas, stressing that President Tebboune entrusted him with conveying him "a message of friendship and respect to the Palestinian people, assuring him that Algeria spares no effort to serve the Palestinian people and their cause.”
President Tebboune, who called "the Palestinians to banish discord and end to the split,” also entrusted me with conveying a message to the Palestinian authorities led by Abu Mazen (Mahmoud Abbas)," he continued.
In addition, the Secretary of the Central Committee of the Fatah Movement "thanked the Algerian people and President Tebboune, one of the symbols of unity, history, and pride to the valiant Algerian people.”
