Resolution of conflicts: US Deputy Secretary of State expresses gratitude for Algeria’s contributions

WASHINGTON (United States)- US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy R. Sherman on Wednesday expressed gratitude for Algeria’s contributions to the resolution of regional conflicts,  in a phone call with the minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra.
Sherman "expressed gratitude for Algeria’s contributions to the resolution of regional conflicts, including Algeria’s support for urgent de-escalation of violence" in occupied Palestine and "for UN efforts to advance an enduring and dignified resolution for Western Sahara (conflict), and for improving security in the Sahel," the US Department of State spokesman Ned Price said in a statement. 
Lamamra had a phone discussion with Wendy Sherman at the initiative of the US official, according to a statement by the ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The two officials exchanged views on various regional and international issues of common interest, including the situation in Mali and the Sahel-Saharan region, international cooperation in counterterrorism, Western Sahara and Palestine issues, as well as the current crisis in international relations against the backdrop of the conflict in Ukraine, the ministry's statement said.
"Noting the promising prospects for Algerian-US relations," Lamamra and Sherman "agreed on deepening the strategic dialogue at all levels between the two countries."
