Algeria-Cuba: Health Minister leads Algerian delegation to Havana

ALGIERS- The minister of Health, Abdelhak Saihi, leads the Algerian delegation to the 23rd meeting of the Algerian-Cuban Joint Commission of Economic, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation (February 13-15) in Cuba's capital, Havana, the ministry of Health said Sunday in a statement.
The meeting comes as a result of the visit Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez made to Algiers last November, as part of the "strengthening of the historical relations of friendship and solidarity between the two countries," the statement said.
Saihi, together with Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz, Cuba's minister of Foreign Trade and Investment and co-chairman of the joint commission, will "assess the bilateral relations, and mainly the execution of the recommendations made in the previous session held in Algiers, in February 2019."
The minister will discuss "ways and means to boost cooperation and partnership in several sectors of common interest, and to extend them for the benefit of the two countries."
Havana's meeting will be an opportunity to "examine and sign a number of cooperation agreements and programmes in pharmaceutical industry, agriculture, higher education, youth issues, sports, tourism and culture, in addition to other sectors."
