Algeria-Cuba Economic Forum: Investment opportunities in both countries highlighted
 
ALGIERS- Algeria-Cuba Economic Forum, held on February 14-15 in Havana, Cuba, under the chairmanship of Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, and the minister of Health, Abdelhak Saihi, put forward the investment possibilities and business climate in Algeria and Cuba, the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry said Thursday in a statement.
During the works of the forum, attended by more than 60 economic operators representing various sectors, investment opportunities and the business climate in Algeria and Cuba were stressed by the representatives of different Algerian and Cuban ministerial departments.
The works were marked by the signing of an action plan 2023 for the Algerian-Cuban Business Council, between the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its Cuban counterpart, to enhance bilateral cooperation in the best interests of the two countries, the statement said.
Bilateral business meetings were also held between Algerian and Cuban companies operating in the food-processing industry, health, Pharmaceutical industry, construction, energy and renewable energies, public works, mining, packaging, wholesale and retail sale, tourism and start-ups.
 
 
 
23rd Algerian-Cuban Joint Committee: Inking of several cooperation agreements
 
ALGIERS- The 23^rd Algerian-Cuban Joint Committee, held recently in Havana (Cuba), culminated in the signing of several cooperation agreements between the two countries, the Ministry of Health said Thursday in a statement.
 
The agreements were signed by Health Minister Abdelhak Saihi and by Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz, in the presence of members of the joint committee, said the source.
 
The agreements cover several areas of cooperation between the two countries, notably pharmaceutical industry, agriculture, communication, youth and sports, in addition to a bilateral economic plan for 2023-2025, according to the source.
 
A cooperation agreement on health was also signed after modifying the clauses of the former agreement concluded in 2018.
 
The two sides agreed to prepare for the 24th Algerian-Cuban Joint Committee, scheduled for 2024 in Algiers.
 
They also stressed the importance of the next session which will enable “giving concrete expression to the cooperation between the two countries and to expand them to include other fields for an integrated and mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation,” added the source.
 
During the works of the 23rd Algerian-Cuban Joint Committee, the two sides welcomed “the quality of the historical relations between the two countries.”
