Algeria’s moves to enshrine peace, reconciliation process in Mali continue

 
ALGIERS- Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ramtane Lamamra affirmed that Algeria continues its moves to reach necessary consensus between all the Malian parties signatories to the Agreement on peace and reconciliation in Mali, stemming from Algiers process and to strengthen their adherence to this framework, in order to achieve its goals in the field, the ministry said Thursday in a statement.
As part of his participation in the 41nd AU Executive Council, Lamamra held on Thursday, in Addis Ababa, bilateral discussions with his Malian counterpart Abdoulaye Diop as well as with the President of the Commission of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Omar Touray, said the source.
The talks focused mainly on the challenges facing the peace and reconciliation process in Mali, as well as ways that help overcome current hindrances in order to boost the implementation of the Agreement on peace and reconciliation in Mali, stemming from Algiers process.
 
 
 
In his capacity as the leader of the international mediation and president of the follow-up Committee for the implementation of the Agreement on Pace and Reconciliation in Mali, Algeria continues its moves to reach the necessary consensus between all the Malian parties signatories to the Agreement and to strengthen their adherence to this framework, in order to achieve its goals in the field, said Lamamra.
The minister had bilateral talks with his Ugandan counterpart Odongo Jeje Abubakar with whom he discussed the bilateral relations, as well as ways to consolidate them, with a view to preparing for the next bilateral events, notably the State visit that will be paid soon to Algeria by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, at the invitation of his brother President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The two ministers discussed the main items included in the agenda of the current Executive Council, as part of the traditional consultation and coordination between the two countries.
