International Qur’an Recitation Competition : Algerian Chaima Anfal Tebani wins first prize
ALGIERS- Algerian reciter Chaima Anfal Tebani won Friday, in Algiers, the first prize of the 18th Algiers International Award of Qur’an Recitation and Islamic Heritage Celebration, which saw the participation of reciters from 51 Arab-Muslim countries.
The student Tebani received the award in a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Wakfs in the honor of this edition’s winners as well as the jury which supervised the assessment of the participants in this contest.
The warp-up ceremony of Algiers International Qur’an Recitation Award, which was organized at the International Center of Conferences Abdelatif Rahal (CIC) saw also the awarding of the Swedish Hassan Chaib Mohamed Chafiai who won the second prize, followed by Ablaziz Mekhlouf Salem Melouga from Libya.
The members of the international jury (Senegal, Kuwait and Algeria) that supervised the assessment of the participants were honored, in the presence of a number of ministers, representatives of the diplomatic corps in Algeria as well as officials of different sectors.
