Sahrawi Republic warns Morocco against any attempt to mislead AU

 
ADDIS ABABA (African Union)- The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) will not allow the Moroccan occupier to take advantage of any continental rostrum to spread its lies and engage in misleading manoeuvres on the western Sahara issue, the president of the National Sahrawi Council, member o the National secretariat of the Polisario Front, Hamma Salama, said Sunday, stressing that the attempts by the Moroccan regime to use African Union (AU) institutions to serve its political agenda will fail.
Morocco seeks to convince the African Union UA of the importance of the conclusions of the so-called "Tangier Forum for Peace and Development in Africa," which "is in fact no more than a propaganda and political event that the Kingdom of Morocco uses to serve its agenda in order to legitimise its occupation of parts of the Sahrawi Republic territory, Sahrawi news agency SPS reported, citing Hamma Salama who represents Sahrawi President Brahim Ghali in the 36^th AU Heads of State and Government Summit in Addis Ababa.
"The African Union should be aware of Morocco's attempts to involve it financially and politically in the so-called "Tangier Forum for Peace and Development in Africa," he added.
The AU has "institutional and structural bodies that should study and monitor any activity that results in decisions and political declarations," the president of the Sahrawi National Council said on the second day of the 36^th AU Heads of State and Government Summit.
