Algerian diplomacy is regaining its position, says President Tebboune

 
ALGIERS- President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune affirmed that Algeria is regaining the prestige of its diplomacy, underling that all the countries dealing with Algeria recognize that it’s a source of stability.  
In his periodic meeting with the representatives of the national media, broadcast Friday evening on the national television channels and radio stations, President Tebboune underlined that Algerian diplomacy is underpinned by a strong economy and security stability.
“All the countries dealing with Algeria recognize that it is a source of stability, despite the tensions troubling some regions on the borders,” he said.
In this regard, President Tebboune referred to the organization by Algeria of the Arab Summit in November, pointing out that “any event organized by Algeria has a special value, at the African, European and Mediterranean levels,” thanks to the “history of Algeria, worthy of respect,” underlining “the unpredictable faux pas” of the Algerian diplomacy during the last decade.  
He underscored the Algerian aid for the African countries through the Algerian Agency of the International Cooperation for Solidarity and Development, stressing that it will be destined to finance development projects in various African countries.
Concerning the Libyan crisis, President Tebboune affirmed that all the “old” tested methods have been unsuccessful and have proven that the Algerian approach is correct in terms of resolving the crisis in this neighboring country. An approach based on a solution decided by the Libyan themselves, through the organization of elections and the choice of their representatives.
 
As regards of the issues of Western Sahara, “unresolved since 1975,” President Tebboune said that the Sahrawi President Brahim Ghali is among the personalities who took part in discussions with the Moroccan side, which were about to reach a settlement to this issue during the reign of King Hassan II, by things got complicated afterwards.
The President of the Republic affirmed that the relations with Italy, which date back to the pre-independence period, are growing stronger, underlining that the two countries have always had good relations.
Concerning Algeria-Spain relations, President Tebboune said that Spain has made a misstep on the issue of Western Sahara, dubbing “unfriendly act” this move.
