Representing President of the Republic, PM Benabderrahmane attends NAM Contact Group Summit-Level Meeting

 
BAKU-Representing the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Prime Minister, Aimene Benabderrahmane will participate Thursday in Baku (Azerbaijan) in the Summit-Level Meeting of the Contact Group of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) on the post-Covid-19 recovery.
Presidents and representatives of governments of 76 states, including Algeria, will partake in this meeting themed "Covid-19 Post-pandemic Global Recovery.”
The participants will discuss ways to respond to the post-Covid-19 global recovery and future activities of the Non-Aligned Movement.
 
NAM Contact Group Summit-Level Meeting opens in Baku
BAKU-The Summit-Level Meeting of the Contact Group of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) on the post-Covid-19 recovery opened Thursday in Baku (Azerbaijan), with the participation of the Prime Minister, Aimene Benabderrahmane, in his capacity as representative of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Presidents and representatives of governments of 76 states, including Algeria, will partake in this meeting themed "Covid-19 Post-pandemic Global Recovery.”
The participants will discuss ways to respond to the post-Covid-19 global recovery and future activities of the Non-Aligned Movement.
Before the opening of the meeting, the presidents and government representatives of 76 states, including Algeria, observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria.
 
President of Azerbaijan receives Prime Minister Aymen Benabderrahmane
BAKU (Azerbaijan)- The president of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, received Thursday in Baku, Prime Minister Aymen Benabderrahmane, on the sidelines of his participation as representative of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Contact Group Summit on the post Covid-19 era.
The meeting was an opportunity for the two sides to discuss the state of bilateral relations and their prospects.
President Aliyev expressed "his country's desire to give a fresh impetus to bilateral cooperation in all fields, especially in the light of the results of the discussions he had with President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune on the sidelines of the Arab Summit on November 1st, in Algiers, which he attended as a guest of honour."
President Tebboune reiterates Algeria's commitment to NAM's principles, goals
 
BAKU (Azerbaijan)- President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune reiterated in his address at the Non-aligned Movement (NAM) Contact Group Summit, whose works are being held in Baku, Azerbaijan, Algeria's continued commitment to NAM's principles and goals that have proven, in the course of events structuring international relations, their accuracy and validity in the current context.
President Tebboune, in an address read on his behalf by Prime Minister Aymen Benabderrahmane at a meeting on post-Covid-19 era, called on the member countries to "renew commitment to the movement and increase efforts to boost its role in rebalancing the international relations marked by new challenges."
The president of the Republic said "the current international situation requires that our movement assume its responsibilities in relation to the challenges facing our countries."
He mainly cited the "the increase in regional and international hotbeds of tension, challenges imposed by the arms race and the worsening of the climate crisis as well as the health crisis due to the propagation of pandemics threatening millions of human beings worldwide."
 
Algeria calls on NAM states to step up efforts to enshrine its founding principles
BAKU-On the sidelines of his participation in his capacity as representative of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Contact Group Summit-Level Meeting held Thursday in Baku (Azerbaijan), the Prime Minister, Aimene Benabderrahmane reiterated the call of Algeria to NAM member states to "step up efforts to enshrine the founding principles of the movement.”
In a statement to the press on the sidelines of the meeting on the post-Covid-19 recovery, Benabderrahmane reiterated "the call of Algeria to NAM member states to redouble their efforts to enshrine the founding principles of the movement" and pave the way for emerging countries in the world.
The NAM must enshrine the right of its member countries to have an organization bearing slogans and principles that defend their rights in light of the new world system and pave the way for states that are working on setting up a new economic, financial, and political system," he stressed.
The PM also highlighted the presentation at the meeting of the successful experience of Algeria in the fight against Covid-19, and the assistance provided to friendly and brotherly countries to recover from the pandemic that has impacted the world.
"The after-effects of the pandemic are still present, especially in this context of geopolitical changes, which impact the value chains and supplies, with an impact on the economies of developing countries.
