Belani receives chairman of foreign affairs committee in Croatian parliament

 
ALGIERS-The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Amar Belani received Tuesday in Algiers the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Croatian Parliament, Gari Cappelli, said the Ministry in a statement.
The meeting "was an opportunity to reiterate the willingness of both parties and their common aspiration to deepen the excellent relations between the two countries, to develop and expand bilateral cooperation, especially in light of the successful bilateral political consultations, whose third session was held in Algiers last February 21" under the chairmanship of Belani and the Secretary of State for Political Affairs at the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Frano Matusic, said the source.
Emphasis was placed on the importance of implementing the recommendations of the 3rd  session of political consultations, especially about increasing the volume of bilateral trade, development of bilateral cooperation, and exchange of expertise and successful experiences in the field of agriculture, tourism, energy, culture, sport, and shipbuilding through a comprehensive economic partnership between the two countries.
Moreover, the two officials agreed to "strengthen parliamentary cooperation", welcoming the installation of the Algeria-Croatia parliamentary friendship group, which is a new mechanism to boost cooperation and dialogue between the two friendly countries on all issues of common interest.”
During the talks, the two sides exchanged views and analyses on the current situation at the international level, expressing their "great satisfaction" with the convergence of views on the need to further develop the system of multi-stakeholder action and implement international legality and international law without exclusivity, far from the policy of double standards in the resolution of various crises and conflicts in the world.”
 
 
Algerian-Croatian parliamentary friendship group set up in Algiers
 
ALGIERS- The Algerian-Croatian parliamentary friendship group was set up Tuesday at the headquarters of the People’s National Assembly, as part of the strengthening and expansion of the cooperation between the two countries, the Parliament’s Lower House said in a statement.
 
The installation ceremony was held in the presence of the head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Community at the People’s National Assembly Salim Merah, the head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Croatian Parliament Gari Capelli, Croatia’s ambassador to Algiers and the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad.
 
Speaking on this occasion, Merah said that this installation comes concomitantly with the visit of the Croatian parliamentary delegation to Algeria, expressing the hope that this meeting could pave the way for “fruitful, lasting and exceptional relations, based on solid foundations of cooperation, trust and mutual respect between the People’s National Assembly and the Croatian Parliament.”
 
He underlined that “Croatia shares with Algeria the objectives and principles of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), as they are founding countries.”
 
The bilateral relations between the two countries “need support at the different levels, notably in terms of parliamentary cooperation between the two legislative institutions, while working on their revitalization through consultations and contact, notably through video-conferences and the exchange of visits between the parliamentarians and civil servants to take advantage of the experiences of the two sides,” he added.
 
For his part, Croatia’s ambassador to Algiers said he is satisfied “with the bilateral relations between the two countries and which have reached their best level,” underlining his country’s hope “to extend and deepen its economic cooperation with Algeria.”
 
He reiterated “his determination to work with the parliamentary group to strengthen and expand the cooperation between the two countries.”
